Product Description

Unlike most grain-free granolas, this has a light and crunchy texture thanks to the chickpea flakes. Dried blueberries offer a pop of flavor, which are then tossed in almond butter with pumpkin, chia, and sunflower seeds. This hearty mix also has a subtle sweetness of maple, and finally a hint of dried rosemary for a surprisingly fresh finish.

Directions, Tips & Servings

Picky granola is the perfect topping, or just by the spoonful! On top of smoothies, coconut yogurt, or in any of your favorite recipes for an added crunch. It’s also a perfect pair with our Aloha OatMac Plant Milk!

Flavor Profile

Dried blueberries, almond butter, maple, and rosemary are the prominent flavors in this delicious blend!

Almond Butter
A result of the crushing of Almonds, the edible seeds of the Prunus dulcis tree, this highly nutritious nut butter is a favorite among many. Almond butter has a fruity, marzipany, nutty flavor and lends a creamy texture when used as an ingredient in nutrition bars.

Chickpea Flakes
Chickpea Flakes are from the legume family and also known as garbanzo beans. Popular and nutritious, Chickpeas are a staple in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisines and the base of a well known favorite, hummus.

Dried Blueberries
A pigment called anthocyanin is what gives nutritious blueberries their true blue color. Blueberries have been harvested and enjoyed by many cultures for centuries and in some cultures were originally referred to as “star fruits” due to the five-pointed star shape that is at the blossom end of the berry. The dried blueberries are lightly infused with apple juice and lightly coated with sunflower oil to help preserve their texture and quality.

Dried Rosemary
Rosemary, a member of the mint family, is a well known herb from the fragrant evergreen shrub called Salvia rosmarinus. This aromatic herb is a bit woodsy with distinct flavor notes of pine, evergreen, sage and a little bit of mint. Often dried and used in culinary dishes, Rosemary also has a traditional use in botanical therapies, and is revered by some as a universal symbol of honor and remembrance.

Maple Syrup
Maple syrup is actually the "sweet-water sap" from the Sugar Maple Tree, a large hardwood tree native to North America. From the soapberry family of trees (Sapindacea). In early spring, the bark of the the “sugar bush” is tapped or cut, and a watery sap drains from the tree… this is not the circulating sap that is necessary for the health of the tree, by the way. The sweet-water sap is then boiled to remove the water and a sweet, syrup results with complex flavor notes of vanilla, molasses, and caramel.

Organic Chia Seeds
Chia seeds are the tiny black seeds of the chia plant (Salvia hispanica). Native to Mexico and Guatemala, they were a staple food for the ancient Aztecs and Mayans. In fact, “chia” is the ancient Mayan word for “strength”. Chia seeds contain fiber, protein, and several essential minerals. Organic Pumpkin Seeds
Also known in North America as a “pepita,” pumpkin seeds are the edible seeds of the pumpkin squash fruit. Believed to have been cultivated some 8,000 plus years ago, pumpkin seeds are somewhat flat and oval, light green in color, and provide for a nutritious and crunchy snack or addition to many foods.

Organic Sunflower Seeds
Technically the fruits of the sunflower plant (Helianthus annuus), a single sunflower plant head can contain up to 2,000 sunflower seeds. Sunflower seeds may be consumed dried, roasted, or as a nut butter.

Sea Salt
Sea salt comes from evaporated seawater and is less processed than table salt and may retain some of its trace minerals.

Sunflower Oil
Sunflower oil is the oil left over from the pressing of nutritious sunflower seeds.

Tapioca Starch
Extracted from Cassava root, tapioca starch sometimes referred to as tapioca flour, is a great replacement for wheat flour. The cassava root is a vegetable tuber such as a potato or yam. The latin name for the shrub of this tuber is Manihot esculenta.
