FAQs

How to best enjoy each flavor?

Lavender: The floral flavor of our dreams! We recommend enjoying this flavor mixed with your favorite milk of choice and poured over ice during golden hour on the porch. Strawberry: This flavor is like a strawberry patch inside a tea garden, a perfect mix of fruity and earthy Zen. Best enjoyed frothed with your favorite milk in a to-go cup on the way to a picnic at the park in summertime. Original: Pure, earthy matcha and milk protein are a powerful duo. This flavor is best enjoyed stirred into cold water or milk post-workout with an added replenishing electrolyte boost from coconut water and sea salt.

Where is your Matcha sourced?

Our premium quality culinary-grade matcha is sourced from Japan.

How many servings are there per bag?

There are about 7 servings per bag of Original Protein Matcha and about 6 servings in the Lavender and Strawberry Protein Matcha. Why are there less servings in the flavored options? Both flavored options have 6 servings to ensure each serving measurement still meets the 10-grams of protein. We recommend weighing the product in grams per serving depending on the flavor to meet the protein target.

How much protein per serving?

There are approx. 10 grams of milk-based protein per serving.

How much caffeine per serving?

There is approx. 70mg of caffeine per serving for the Lavender and Original Protein Matcha and approx. 90mg of caffeine per serving for the Strawberry Protein Matcha.

How much Lions Mane per serving?

There is approx. 1500mg of Lions Mane per serving.

Can this be consumed hot or cold?

We recommend mixing the product with cold water or milk for the best consistency and taste.

Why do we use monk fruit as a natural sweetener?

Monk fruit is a zero-calorie, zero-sugar sweetener derived from a small melon native to Southeast Asia. Its natural sweetness comes from compounds called mogrosides, which deliver a smoother, more sugar-like taste than most alternative sweeteners. This makes monk fruit the ideal choice for balancing our protein matcha, keeping every sip pleasant without any added sugar.

Why did you add coconut water?

We believe in the power of coconuts as a natural electrolyte source providing potassium, calcium, magnesium, and other essential minerals to help hydrate and support peak performance. The coconut water also adds a clean, lightly sweet flavor that compliments the matcha base while serving a functional purpose.

Protein coffee

"Not my favorite. Glad I tried it. The vanilla latte with coffee, creamer and functional mushrooms is 5 stars all day."

Timothy D. (3/5)

Disappointed

"Tastes good but kinda gritty/chalky. It does not dissolve well at all, even in super hot water, even when I stir the devil out of it. I tried both by hand and with the frother and I am always left will a big mess of sludge in the bottom of the cup that I have to waste. Love the idea but doesn't execute well."

CJ (2/5)

Tasty

"I read the reviews and I am so happy that I ordered this. I am truly enjoying it!! I have several ways that I use it and I've been very happy with how it dissolves, mixes well, and tastes great!!"

Anita B. (5/5)

This Protein Coffee needs a lot of tweaking!

"I rarely write negative reviews about anything. I have written many positive reviews about Laird products. Our family is a big fan of Laird creamers, latte mixes, greens, reds and more. But, the Vanilla Protein Coffeeis literally the worst. No Flavor! Doesn't mix well with anything. Grainy unpalatable texture. Please work on this product. Add more vanilla flavoring. Maybe add a little Cinnamon. Then, please add a little coconut sugar. Then please fix the texture. I would love to try it again once it is improved. Thank you."

Jane M. (1/5)

Unfortunately

"👎 I have been drinking the superfood creamer vanilla for over 2 years and love it! Just didn’t like the protein powder, too chalky."

April J. (1/5)

LSF Vanilla Protein Coffee tastes great!

"LSF Vanilla is low in carbohydrates and sugar. Blends easily."

Vondi F. (5/5)

Great idea, decent taste

"Very easy to use! This would be a great travel tool or busy morning drink. Hits all the boxes. Except it's very grainy. Most of the protein powder didn't blend, even with my milk frother, and ended us as sludge at the bottom of my cup. The protein powder acted like most protein powders in a hot drink - it separated."

Christine P. (3/5)

Funky

"Didn’t really like it. does not blend well, lots of leftover powder in the bottom of the coffee cup when mixed with hot water. Just couldn’t get it to dissolve. not as good as the protein instant latte and even that needs some flavor like vanilla or mocha with the shrooms."

Gary T. (3/5)

Good Iced Protein Coffee

"After preparing the first cup with hot water for a hot cup, I realized it is not intended to be used hot. It works well when prepared per the package instructions as an iced coffee beverage. Once I prepared it iced, it was delicious. I would buy this flavor again. I am currently using the Sweat and Creamy, which is also nice."

Rita (4/5)

Bummed on this one.

"Super bummed on this one. Been waiting for LSF to get into the Dairy/Whey space and was very excited to see this. I purchased two bags at Sprouts for ~$20 each - Vanilla and Unsweetened, both taste good, and the macros / protein content is legitimate, however the mixability is a huge problem. I followed the 8oz water - 4 tbs ratio and mix (VERY) well with a an electric frother, the end result is not good, barley drinkable if I'm being honest. The froth is chalky, and after just a few mins there is a sludge at the bottom of the cup."
